Norse fall in series opener with Denison
The Norse Hockey Club opened their road series with Denison University last night, dropping the first game 4 to 1.
Denison pulled ahead late in the first and the Norse pulled even in the second with a power play goal from senior Jeremy Emig.
In the final stanza, the Norse ran into penalty trouble, amassing 24 of their game total 32 minutes in penalties. "We didn't really help ourselves in the 3rd period, but we will try to rebound tomorrow.", said senior alternate captain, Adam Engels. Denison, with the help of NKU's penalties, were able to net 3 goals in the third, finishing off the Norse.
Today's game is at 5:00PM and the Norse will try to earn a split with Denison at the Lou & Gib Reese Ice Arena in Newark, Ohio.
